I can't bank on three years at Manchester United - the United boss

Manchester United head coach

The Manchester United coach - seen receiving consolation post May's Europa League final defeat - says he is pleased by the investor's extended support but stressed that tomorrow is uncertain in soccer.

The Red Devils' boss the Portuguese coach thinks it is important Sir Jim Ratcliffe went public with his extended perspective - but says nothing is certain about the next day in soccer, let alone three years.

In an interview with a major publication last week, Sir Jim said it could take the head coach a three-year period to produce meaningful results at the Theatre of Dreams.

Arriving during a time when Amorim's future has been under scrutiny in the wake of a lengthy stretch of poor performances, the words contributed to reducing some of the immediate pressure.

But, speaking before the 100th meeting with old rivals the Merseyside club at Anfield, Amorim emphasized how what comes next is challenging to anticipate in football.

"It is really good to listen to that but he tells me all the time, sometimes with a message post fixtures - but you know, I realize and Jim knows, that football is not like that," he said.

"The vital factor is the following fixture. Regardless of investors, you cannot dictate tomorrow in soccer."

Chief executive Omar Berrada has acknowledged it has needed much more time for Amorim to adjust to the English top flight after his transfer from his former club during the winter than any person expected.

The Red Devils have secured 10 successes in 34 league games with the Portuguese coach. They still haven't achieved back-to-back league wins and have not ended a fixture schedule this season better than ninth place.

The dire statistics are challenging confidence in the manager among the United fanbase approaching a run of games their team has struggled during for the previous two campaigns.

United's boss commented he does not feel the uncertainty within the organization at the team's practice complex and is adamant nothing can match the expectation he puts on the team - and in certain ways, he would choose Sir Jim to avoid attempting to establish serenity because he is concerned about the impact it could have on the squad.

"It's not just something people discuss, I feel it daily," he stated. "It's really good to listen to it because it assists our supporters to comprehend the administration know it is going to take a period.

"Yet concurrently, I don't like it because it creates an impression that we possess time to solve problems. I don't desire that feeling in our team.

"The stress I apply to the team or to myself is considerably larger [than that from outside]. In football, specifically at large organizations, you have to show your value every weekend."
